Drakor waved. âHave you seen our companions?â
(The person who sold them out was born within the bounds of wedlock guys)
(Some of the names are unfamiliar, but you do recognize some of them, either because theyâre especially prominent or because youâve had reason to deal with them in the past â Tiberi the farrierâs assistant, Bogdan the glassblower, and Dosia the sorcerer who can only cast cantrips. From what you know about them, Wandererâs desperation theory might hold some fruit; Tiberi had recently lost a large amount of money investing in a âmerchant ventureâ that promised him the chance to get rich quick but turned out to be a scam, and Bogdan had lost several family members in a bout of plague. Dosia, whoâs always been angry that she wasnât given the respect she felt she deserved for her magic, is perhaps a special case.)
(Girl maybe Flauros can teach you a Spell)
He starts to shake his head, then pauses. âWait. I might have. Some people got marched past in handcuffs a little while back, but I⌠didnât see them very well. But they looked kind of like your companions.â
(This is so transparent of a lie that Iâm not going to make you Sense Motive it. The problem isnât his vision, itâs that he wasnât paying very close attention.)
âBut the holding cells are in here, so they must have gone to the Abadarans or the courthouse instead.â
Drakor nodded. âThank you.â
He turned to Arius. âLetâs try the courthouse.â
(he began walking)
(Are we still cuffed?)
The courthouse is also guarded, but judging by the uniforms, the guards are privately employed rather than being members of the Watch. The pair outside the door are carrying longspears, with light crossbows on their back for a ranged backup option. Both of them stare stonily ahead rather than greeting you in any way.
Drakor approached. âPardon me, but have you seen a Pularan priest pass by here?â
âŚTechnically yes, but with Rafau having confessed and Zelsh having verified your side of the story, they quickly free you.
âYou are free to go,â says the dwarf. He holds up a finger. âBut one moment, first.â
He leans over to the Abadaran and says something quietly. She heads back into the bank vaults.
âThere was a bounty for information that would allow us to apprehend the cult,â says the dwarf. âTwenty-five crowns. Itâll be smaller, split so many ways, but it should more than cover the trouble you went to.â
From how heâs talking about it, he clearly considers this an impressive bounty for this sort of information. The Abadaran quickly returns, and pays it out to the group (some of it is in links instead for easy division).
(Split 4 ways?)
(How much do we each get?)
(Or is it just handed to us and we decide)
âWhatâs a Puluran?â says one of the guards. âIs that one of the Tien gods?â
The other guard shakes his head. âI donât think so. I think theyâre⌠Sarkoran?â
âWow! Must be a really old priest,â says the first guard. âIâve seen plenty of priests, but all of normal gods.â
âUnless you count the guy in handcuffs,â says the second one.
âWas he a priest ?â says the first one. âI thought he just liked the necklace design.â
(split how you decide, so for example you could choose to share it with Drakor and Arius)
Drakor frowned. âHe didnât look old- did you say handcuffs?â
Wanderer attempts to leave after taking his share.
âZelsh thinks the five of us should gdt 5 crowns each.â Zelsh told Paprika and Wanderer. âCanât forgrt Arius and Drakor after all.â
âYeah!â says the first one. âA whole group of them. They even had a kid cuffed.â
âI donât think she was a kid,â says the other guard. âShe looked, like, seventeen or eighteen.â
âNo way. Fourteen tops.â
