“Do we think they’ll want us as witnesses in a trial? Or we can offer our services in investigating the other cult members, since the Watch is involved.”
…probably a couple hours
“I am trying to tell you I want an audience with the Lord-Mayor to ask him about the baron. If this was enough, we’re in. If we need to apprehend other cultists to do so, then I’ll do that.” Paprika crossed her arms. “Speaking to powerful people is how you get around in this world.”
Drakor yawned. “On that note, did we find any info besides the cult? Or is this our only lead?”
CST (Canary Standard Time) and PST (Party Standard Time) are two hours apart ja
“Haa…” Arius raises his hand as if to surrender. “Very well, then. Let’s do it your way. You know the names, right? Surely you know where they live as well. Which cult member do you want to visit first?”
“If we spearheaded an investigation, sure. Not sure the watch wants to directly work with us right now. I get the impression they ‘protect their own’ if you get what I mean.”
He mulls it over.
“They might be okay with handing over this investigation to us though. We should talk with them at their headquarters.”
“I don’t know about that… If one Watch guard got bribed, then who’s to say there aren’t any other Watch guards that got bribed?” Arius asks with skepticism.
“We don’t bring this to the Watch. We bring it to their bosses.”
“Smart choice. Is mentioning the corrupt senior guard enough to make that discussion happen?”
(Who most directly supervises the Watch that isn’t “in the Watch”? Would it be the Lord-Mayor?)
(yes)
“I doubt there are more but a hunch is all I can offer to support my belief. So fair point.”
(@arete if someone would conceivably want to learn more about magicks in a city such as this, where would they go?)
“Amelie has had personal visits from the Lord-Mayor before, and she’s a total gossip. I spoke with her last night and built up a rapport. I’ll see if I can find her again and explain what happened, then see if she can put us in contact with him.”
Paprika turned swiftly and toward Amelie’s, but paused. “It would be easier and more casual for me to find her at the next meal rather than seeking an audience merely to gossip.”
(Would it be ~reasonable to petition a Lord Mayor about the presence of a demon cult in their city? And would it be at all likely for them to listen?)
(I forgor petitioning is a thing nya)
(Rika would know this bc she lives in society)
(can you be more specific about what you’re hoping to learn about)
