[RP] Trials of Madness - Completed - Apprentice, Magnus, Squirrel, and Windward emerge Victorious

I’m sorry too. I think these games tend to last long enough that players are more eager to play them if there’s been a break first.

but
still
regardless of
was it just all those extra circumstances pooled together
or was it something else

and why would the extra circumstances effect other games too

Games like Elements, off the top of my head?

every single forum mafia game in the past few months
probably past fam
has felt off

where are the
rest of them

beside what i probably should just categorize as constant dread
i can look back on those games and they were really different
there was something there
mo and fotd had it
but now theres nothing

hmm

personally I think having less players contributed to that
it’s harder to rp with people when there’s only 3 active people left (plus timezones)

fotd and mo had more ppl so it was easier to find people to rp with imo

on a character standpoint I think stick (tom) was also a little less interesting to play as than yew (fotd)
not on a gameplay level but just character wise he’s not as nuanced a character

tbf spruce (mo) was also less interesting to rp as than stick but mo was the first new rp game on site iirc so recency bias

idk tho

I think engagement in the others was higher but I really liked some of the mechanics in this one

the npcs were a lot more fleshed out than the other games which was a big plus
and the plot was fairly cohesive

honestly if you ask me i think the game was just played too close to the end of fotd and that would have left a lot of people decently burned out

that probably played a part in it too

since fotd was also really close to mo

now i wanna ramble about npcs

anyway i

kinda get it
i think im trying to combine how my feelings towards forum mafia have shifted to my feelings of this game
which
even if they’re similar they have a lot of different causes

i really did enjoy the players, so
i dont want to try and paint that as the cause
you all were a lot of fun to host for
its just different problems

Hosting is generally a lot of fun.

to be honest i
probably shouldve done a bit more “important things” instead of making 6 hidden secret rooms all over zone two
and i dont remember my hosting and i don’t really think it was good
because of delirium chronic pain and marijuana

so
i could almost certainly have done more
whenever i get around to remembering that bit

at least my character interaction skills have gotten mildly better
npc’s need to be
with a better backstory
and a playerbase of a good few players with similar timezones to all interact and bounce off eachother is needed
and
i need to
try to find all the other things that remove life from all of this
a better progression overall is needed
i need to flesh out how im going to act in certain situations to certain things

i dont even know how i would do something like this again
if i start to consider it i need to drop and add a lot of things
so

well

good game
i think im content with what happened now

The lack of direction killed me

Games usually track your progress and give you options to go do whatever you want. I felt I didn’t have that so I just

In a way. Magnum Opus was good because of the absolute abilities, FoTD was great because of the character plots and this game you could explore more I guess?

In Magnum Opus I got confused to what to do so I couldnt help Q, when they were a turncoat.
FoTD, it was very very fun because of the character interactions, I love that the most in that world.
Here uhhhh

This is definetly a complex issue, though I think the major one was the progress of the game took too long and activity got killed.
