I really hate how zorvo is a wagon, they are behaving exactly how i would expect him to. Im not sure if he is town or not yet, but zorvo is a exceptionally analytical player, which from what i have seen of him likes to play with mechanics. Alright, Jarek elaboration time. Usually, when Jarek comes into a game as town, they will have an attitude of not caring much about D1, but they still interact with the game to an extent. Here’s their opener from Starcraft - they commented on a roleclaim and placed a vote. That’s real interaction with others, and it displays a towny investment in how the first day goes. Sure, they’re concise and laidback about it, but they… care. I think what Jarek’s doing right now is an attempt to imitate their attitude as town, and a failed one at that, as they’re clearly either too nervous or too disinterested in the outcome of the day to make real commentary.

Even in Flicker, they engaged with the game, placing an RVS vote and later talking more about what was going on. The Jarek we have here… isn’t doing that. They’re not saying anything meaningful, because they don’t care who dies as long as it’s not one of their wolfbuddies. This implies that, given Jarek’s a wolf, there’s at least one townie in Zorvo and 2Wolves at the moment, which means that Jarek would be a helpful flip for today, too.

I’ve gone on about how Jarek’s not engaged with the game at all, but let’s take a look through what they have said:

This opener implies that Jarek was sitting around, reading what people were saying, and not giving a shit, then suddenly saw someone say something deserving of a correction, and then made it on impulse. As a wolf, I often find myself having to restrain myself from doing the same thing - correcting people who are wrong when I’m lurking, and it seems Jarek gave into that temptation today. Basically, what I’m saying is “wolfy pop-in”.

This is the slimiest response I have ever seen. No response to my comment about the opener, immediately goes for a discredit on the second person on the wagon and then attempts to discredit me based on never having seen me before, including doing some fairly overt manipulation of expectations.

This isn’t how town responds to a vote. Town seeks to see if the push is town or not, town seeks other scum if they are going to ignore it. This does neither. It doesn’t attempt to sort Z or I, it doesn’t show an intent to seek scum reads in the game elsewhere. This is pure survivalism for the sake of survivalism and lacks town motivation.

Trolling on D1 is expected and encouraged because it makes the people who think there is any merit in D1 mad and that’s funny.

I know, I know, opportunism is a commonly-thrown-around buzzword, but it’s often felt that your vote is placed more out of a sense of obligation toward the thread than creative solving. It’s like… you see a case, you see consensus, and go “I should check that out if all those townies agree”. Your readlist, when it happened, was safe and generally in line with thread consensus, and you didn’t even provide your own reasoning for those reads.
• The specific post was that you said that my headposting was scummy “if you think about it really hard”. That’s a phrase that distances yourself from your own opinion in a way that wolves love - it felt like you were putting a thought out there to see if other people, ideally townies, would “bite” on pushing the people who were going after you.
• Everything that happens on D1 is bait. There is just not enough information to be completely confident on the cases you’re making, so I just… push whatever seems informative, then gauge the way people treat it (arguably, I do this the entire game). The Jarek scumcase being bait doesn’t mean it wasn’t, at least in part, serious in the moment, it just means that I was entirely willing to pivot off of it if someone reacted in a way that I thought was suspicious.
• Taking the game entirely seriously 100% of the time is unnecessary. Revealing all of your reasons for something 100% of the time is unnecessary. People are free to pressure me to talk more if they’d like, but I think it’s informative to not provide full details and see what they press on - it betrays their sense of attention, which is great for hunting partnerships. My vote on Jarek was not a meme, it was a means to an end, and that end was suspecting you (not to imply that’s the end of the road for my view of the game, just that it’s where I’m at right now).

Stellaluna’s treatment of our fight felt off to me - I’m not sure why she thought that there was ~always a wolf in our fight, when it was… very much what seemed like a playstyle clash to me. Her logic felt filled-back from the conclusion, like she wanted to say there was a wolf there because, y’know, agenda, and then had to make it up later.

Of course, this conclusion relies on you being a villager, which segues nicely into my next point - I think others’ treatment of her slot has been interesting and I think it would be pretty telling. There’s a lot of material for alignment reads around a Stellaluna flip whichever way it goes.

To be clear, I don’t want to make it seem like that singular moment is the only thing making me vote here - their behavior has also been consistently wolfy to my eye throughout the game - but that’s the most succinct, crystalized point I can make about it, y’know?
