as a very rough timeline that might be off by a couple hours, think of it as something like this:
6 AM - sunrise
7 AM - 12 PM: the party members who had gone to capture Kamilla return to Granite Hill
12 PM - 12:30 PM: gathering people up in Granite Hill
12:30 PM - 5:30 PM: the party travels west
(I realize I said ‘around 5 PM’ earlier, but 5:30 is around 5,)

i have a dice avg of 7.66 out of 42 rolls (7.51 and 43 now)
+1 d8 that i rolled an 8 on
this sounds a little worse when i state that the majority of my good rolls were when canary was lying to drakor

…assuming Arius wants to be a JOAT of sorts (which he won’t be, but assume such is the case), would he have to spread his skill ranks all over the place to be able to exceed the cap of 10, or is this specifically a thing only for Knowledge skill checks?
It’s specifically for Knowledge skills with one exception that I know of – most skills are either fully usable untrained (so you wouldn’t be capped at any particular result) or trained only (so you wouldn’t be able to make the check even if it was only DC 10)
(the exception that I know of is Survival checks to follow tracks, but I hadn’t realized that was an exception until partway through the first arc 
)
(there are also various feats and class features and so on that can get around it)

I assume the things are ordered horizontally, but placed vertically.
E.g., fork, spoon, knife.
But then placed vertically. (Up and down.)
